 Introductory statement:

I am Bhuiyan Mohammad   Shawkat Hossain. I am from Bangladesh. I have come to Japan in 2016 April. I have been admitted to IDEC and joined YISK’S lab for master’s program. I was under associate professor   Tatsuya Kusakabe sensei’s supervision.

At first my life in Japan was little bit troublesome due to home sickness, cold weather and to be adapted to Japanese Society. But for the time being I become used to with the new atmosphere. Now I have many friends of Japanese and of other nationalities. I can share my views and ideas with them.

Research activities: My major is agriculture and also my job is in agriculture department. So my research interest is about agriculture and farmer. My research title is “Impact of Educational development for changing the life course of Farmers in Bangladesh.”

In Bangladesh 41% (World Bank, 2017) of rural people are engaged in agriculture .But their living standard and income level is very low. Only education can help them to improve their socio economic condition and remove the poverty level.  That’s why the present study has been undertaken and it focuses to explore the impact of educational development on the life course of farmers of Bangladesh. The purpose of the study is 1.How education expansion improving farmer’s life standard. 2.  To measure the capability of farmers which is necessary for adopting different modern agricultural technology. 3. Which type of education they need and justify the suitability of existing agricultural extension services. For the above purpose to get the related information the researcher conducted the interview of 100 farmers (mainly small and marginal). .

Before analysis it was divided into four sub groups like group 1, group 2, group 3 and group 4 etc. The groups were further discussed and analyzed by under the following sub heading like 1.general information 2.agricultural information and 3.educational information to get the salient features of the householders. The subsequent analysis of empirical data shows that group 1 is the most capable group to invest for commercial agriculture. They have also ability for providing better education to their next generation. And gradually group2 and group 3 has little bit less capability in this regard. Group 4 is the most vulnerable in this perspective of capability of investment. The data also discloses that total income comprises agricultural income, remittance income and other income like small business, part time job and homestead chicken and duck raring etc. The main finding of the present study is that the transformation of agricultural trend from subsistence farming to commercial one due to the impact of educational development. In the rural area (study area) after being educated some people now a days are very much interested to retain their profession as farmer. But not as traditional practitioner. They are trying to establish themselves as modern, improved and commercial farmer. This is the most important and extraordinary finding of this study.

Experience in Japan:

Except the above statement I got some experience during the last two years. Especially for Japanese   food and culture. Japanese food like odon, sushi and misu soup attracted me   very much. Also Japanese education system which is more impressive than that of our developing countries. My son were the student of elementary school here. Going to school of the kids by a group with one group leader over whelmed me very much. Japanese transportation system, especially railway network, high speed train and timeliness of train fascinated me very much. I have visited different places in Japan like Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and  also the historical places of Hiroshima such as Hiroshima Peace Park, Miajimagucchi, Rabbit Island, Yamamamoto Museum in Kure and world heritage site named “Kintai Bridge” in Yamagucchi Prefecture. By visiting the outstanding tourist spots of Japan I think, I have learned many things about Japan. I got a lot of information about its history, culture and socio economic condition. I enjoyed very much in different party, especially I will miss our lab party; the nice Bar be Q party. More over different programs organized by Hiroshima Bangladesh community were also very enjoyable to me and my family. Interaction with Japanese family is another outstanding experience as living in Japan. I think   my two years in Japan will be very memorable in my life. All these experience enriched my life and career.  I will try to carry on the good things to my home country and try to implement their.
